"Today a young man on acid realised that all matter is merely energy condensed into a smaller vibration, and that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
You should really credit Bill Hicks with that excellent quote btw. :)

It is usable, but when you use it on your lap, it gets warmer and the CPU throttles down, resulting in slower times. I don't use it much so it works, and is under warranty... I rests on a laptop stand. It is the original 1.6Ghz, but seeing how some reputable magazine saw the slowdowns on the 2.13Ghz even more, not tempted to upgrade.

The comparison photos are out of focus with blown highlights...not exactly what one would want for evaluation and the measurement link is a sample of one...when someone has measured five different black phones and found no difference in size, get back to me,,,,

I think you are all wrong. On the BMW model names "ix" stands for a fuel injection engine and four-wheel drive. I believe there is an OS M coming for certain BMW models.

OS M-series would be awesome but I just can't afford the insurance.

I'm not so sure the next iPhone will look like the current iphone 4. It probably will be, but i don't know.. They're delaying it and with the white one just released (which of course looks the same).. They've handed out prototype A5 iphones to developers just to make sure the new design won't be leaked. I think Apple could come out with a surprise regarding the design of the next iPhone.

I completely echo this comment. When I got my iPhone 4, I was completely ecstatic with its speed in every app. It was so fast that I would send myself text messages as quick reminders, rather than using any app to do the same. Now, however, it no longer runs fast enough for that. I'm used to Wintel products running slower over time, but I don't expect this from Apple.
Exactly - when I got my iphone 4 I couldn't believe how smooth/fluid it all was. I just wasn't used to it having only used windoze products where stuttering and lag is quite common.
Up to version 4.2.1 the iphone 4 was very smooth, with 4.3.x some of that feel has been lost.

Maybe I should forget to pay my bill 30% of the time.
My wife had VZ and hated them. I doubt that there is actually any network out there that has acceptable quality. The iPhone is essentially a phone straight out of the future. It's like trying to run a RAZR on a network in the late 80's. It's too much data.

I think this will even allow apple to be more versatile in their UI design. Imagine if the ipod interface now is on LCD, with clickwheels, buttons controlled by programming logic internally. For the first time users or non-savvy users, apple can tweak the interface to be even much more simpler, for heavy users, they can customise their own interface. The interface can even react to the users action, guiding them to the right button if it detected that the users are having problems. None of these will be tied down to the hardware design, giving it more room to fit into any particular users' competency level.

HORSE *****!
I HAD NOT ONE DROPPED CALL WITH VERIZON IN 5 YEARS.
That's awesome would you like a cookie? If you like VZW so much, you're more than welcome to go back to them so you can have another 5 wonderful years of no dropped calls.

It'll never happen because it's so counter-intuitive just to save from scratching the screen, but it's an interesting idea none-the-less.
Actually, that (and not smudging the screen) would be side-benefits - the main benefit is you can use the on-screen controls without your fingers and hand obscuring them.
Generally, most touch-screens tend to have large controls as it's difficult to accurately press small controls when your hand is (inevitably) covering them. Having the touch/motion sensors at the back would obliviate this problem and make it possible to have smaller (and thus, more) controls on screen, as needed.

There should be a setting something like:
- Never ask for password for purchases of $X and under.
- Always ask for password for purchases of $Y and over.
The first one would be nice so it I could set it to free and easily update my apps.
The second would help prevent cases like the OP.

Just a note. If you look at the average of the average time between updates you discover that there are, amongst all the products, a 192 days period between updates.
Currently only 177 days have passed since the last update to the MBP. Oct 26 would be Mac Expo in the UK. If they anounced then (185 days) and shipped one week later they would be at the average (192 exactly).
Also noting that major US and Euro retailers are out of stock or low on stock is also a fairly good indicator.
Finally, I think it would be pretty damn sad if after 192 days of updating they merely give us a .16 processor upgrade...

Forget MS I think Apple needs to worry about Sandisk and their 8gig flash player.
SanDisk has announced a drop in price for many of their digital audio players, including the e260 and e250, which are now $ 200 and $ 150 direct, respectively (with a limited free case offer). The cheaper c100's and m200's have also decreased in price, though most of SanDisk's models are quite a bit cheaper if you buy them from various webshops.
Also, hiding on SanDisk's site is a picture of the once-rumored e280 (8 GB), now visible under the e250/60 flash demo. Well, it says 8 GB on the back at least, I doubt it's a typo.
It seems SanDisk is gunning to push this out ahead of the next iPod Nano iteration, which many expect to get a bump in capacity as well. I'd really like to see an 8 GB player, but even more so I'd like SanDisk to work out the few little bugs in the e200's first and foremost (eliminate the headphone out noise, improve on-board playlisting, perhaps space out the playback buttons).
Using a firmware sandisk users haven't seen yet so that says something.

Hi,
It doesn't look as if Spaces can work this way - but if you have multiple
screens then it would be nice to assign one or more spaces to that screen.
Is that how it works?
Or does it treat the other screens as an extension of the current Space?
Cheers, Ed.

Where the **** did I ever suggest anything of the sort?
Because I'm not jumping for joy and mindlessly chanting it means I didn't want justice done for a mass murderer?
Who was talking about stretches earlier?
Probably because you're coming across as overtly cynical about the whole thing with your 'this is zero news/we might actually be worse off' stance. No matter how much you spin it...it is huge news. Both PR wise, as well as to those directly involved the war.
Everyone and their grandmother knows it's not over...not even by a long shot, something even Obama stressed in his speech. We all know whats likely coming. But that doesn't change the fact that the triumph...however small in the grand scheme remains significant

How did they find out that she's a transgender? It's not like women's restrooms have urinals...
They said "Why are you talking to my man?" to a transgendered woman in a women's "restroom"?
Does not compute.
Why not?

The very least the staff should have done is to have protected the victim as best they could, and stayed with the victim during the seizure. It looks real enough to me, and I've seen plenty.
The sad thing is they are basically trained to not get involved. It's a sad world we live in. If I were that girl I would sue McDonald's for such an inhuman policy, someone should as these sort of policies are just sick.
