Sheen is in huge denial and will most likely kill himself at some point.
I wonder if Vegas has a book on it?

Making it look different won't make it better. They should address the usability/functionality, sure.
It looks like they have. It you've used the iPads calendar app, it's much better than what we have in OSX. I mean, finally an agenda view!

cases?
Cases?
CASES?
WTF ... who uses cases? And who cares for cases?
If I look at people with their iphones, i see like less than 5% using anything on their phones. And all of them use the Apple bumper on some iphone 4. I've seen hundreds of iphones in the wild, but I still have to see one non-bumper case in the wild.
Grow up guys ...
P.S.: WTF does one use a case for? To make the phone THICKER? UGLIER?
In Boston, mostly everyone I know with an iPhone, including myself, uses a case. It's more surprising when you see someone NOT using a case.
I use a case so it doesn't get as damaged in my pocket, and in the event you drop the device, there may be some saving grace that it doesn't shatter the glass.

But if we agree that the development of a secure OS is all about utilizing sound design, coding and auditing processes, then we must also accept that the challenge will be very difficult for Apple to meet: You just cannot do that with Open Source...
Sure you can. What you can't do is grab stuff and assume that it does the right thing without checking it for yourself. That's equally true for software developed in house, or developed by subcontractors or commercial partners. It has little at all to do with public vs. private source code.

This would be a good quick way for Apple to lose a couple billion dollars, and some face. As has been said, TV is a very mature market with deeply entrenched players fighting over scraps of profit. There is no way Apple could innovate enough in this area that would compel people to ditch their existing sets, and pay an Apple premium. Google is failing miserably with their attempt.
These are the strategies I see Apple taking:
1. License Airplay. Now any iOS device streams to legions of TVs, bluray decks, and receivers.
2. Enhance Apple TV with apps and games.
3. Profit.

Apparently South Coast Plaza is selling none today
Still waiting here at Fashion Island - crossing fingers!
I really hope they have them in stock for you, man, and you emerge victorious. I just wanna see someone win today... besides Charlie Sheen.

Sorry, Shaniqwa was the first name I could think of when I thought of 8 kids and irresponsible parenting. My apologies.
I LOL'd at this. Not that I think you're wrong. Let's not start a racism debate over this, guys.

I think the lack of a March/April iOS 5 preview pretty much confirmed that. No new OS, no new iPhone. If we get the preview in June at WWDC, that means we get new hardware in September, which is likely to be the launch date of iOS 5.
This again is based off of Apple always shipping a new OS with a new iPhone.
Totally agree with you, last April iOS 4 was previewed then released 2 months later with the iPhone 4.
If Apple was planning to release iOS 5 in June it would have previewed it by now so developers have the time they need to work on it.
In other words, iOS 5 preview at WWDC followed by a release late September/early October and its tied iPhone 5 launch.
Uh... I think I just rephrased your post :D

That would be a sexy phone indeed. The current design/shape is rather uninspired compared to the stuff before. Metal, rounded edges, asymmetrical: win. The teardrop angles it a little on a table. Tre nice.

So how many people can't update their iPad 1s? My wife's 16GB wifi model updated with no problem. My 64GB wifi model still says "device incompatible with this build". No amount of reseting or restoring will change that.

just confirmed with Apple...hopefully they'll remove that.
Anyway, looking forward to the spec bumps for the Mini, the Air and the Pro.
And really hope that everyone's iMacs will behave and be okay this time around.
I just found that out too and I want to cry :-(

Due to late intro of the mac Pro. I would bet that desktops will increase in sales for Q1
I would agree with you. One issue is that the older G5 are still very good machines. There is little incentive to upgrage given that there are still a number of applications that are not Intel native yet. The Mac Pro should see a bigger jump when Photoshop and Leopard are out in Spring.
I think Leopard alone will blow everyone away given the powerfull 64 bit processing. We will continue to see strong demand for Mac desktops at that point.
