Sounds cool to me. I guess all those people worried about fungerprints on the potencially touch screen iPod are psyched about this. So it is a touchscrenn you don't actually touch? This could really work out if done right. I wonder if you can still control your iPod in your pocked without having to look at it though... the iPod remote will come in handy if not :)

a television doesn't make sense. For one thing it'll be too expensive. I say focus on making the apple tv a better product.

i have a family plan with a 3G, 3GS and 2 cheapo phones. my wife and her parents came from Verizon. we live in NYC and no one ever complains about dropped calls. i've had a few from inside a converted factory building with very thick walls
the most dropped calls i have are to my mom in colorado who has t-mobile. those drop on a land line all the time as well

Ok, so AT&T definitely drops calls; that's a given it seems...but for current customers is the dropped calls enough of a pain to leave AT&T/iPhone and go to another carrier??

I recommend trying it yourself.....you have 30 days to try it and see if you experience dropped calls in your area.

It was an employee. You don't need to have 'just a hunch' when most of the media reports confirm this. The employee was fired.
I can understand not reading the whole thread, but not reading anything and preferring to make up your own version of events is kind of lazy.

Now I undertand that building this sort of infrastructure costs money and thus it is logical to assume that they would want to recoup some if not all of that investment. However, why would I want to stream music to my phone when I already have music on my phone?
I could see this work if there was a cheaper iPhone with less memory. It would allow Apple to build its market share amongst people who kust want a phone while allowing them to opt in at anytime if they want to add multimedia files.
Otherwise I just dont see the value. Now if this were some kind of hardrive that allowed access to all kinds of files in real time ala dropbox than we might have something. For that $20 would be a bargain assuming the amount of storage was reasonable.

Hard to believe everybody just stood around and let those girls assault him like that. As far as the seizure....that looks fake as all get out. I have seen a person have a seizure and it was no way near that violent.

I have absolutely no idea on the subject, is it just a matter of buying a share at a couple of hundred dollars, watching Apple go through one of its "win" moments then selling it for a little profit ($50 or whatever) just as a starter? What about tax?

Remember that CBS gets to air reruns and also owns part of the show to sell into syndication. That damn psycho has probably generated a billion dollars for CBS.

The 21.5'' has a 512MB GPU while the 15'' MBP has a 1GB GPU, same chipset. There's no reason why would they do this except to push potential buyers to the 27''. This is ridiculous. If it were to keep the iMac price down, they would've added as a BTO.
