This magnificent ice and snow architectural wonder offers unforgettable experiences that are sure to enthrall everyone! Imagine sleeping in a spectacular structure crafted each winter from the purest of nature's materials; ice and snow, destined to appear at the first snowflake of every winter. Since 2001, the Ice Hotel has become an unparalleled and world-famous winter experience. It takes 5 weeks, 500 tons of ice, and 15,000 tons of snow to craft the Ice Hotel with its ceilings as high as 18 feet, walls covered with original artwork and furniture carved from ice blocks. Quebec offers the Ice Hotel Quebec Canada (Hotel de Glace) at Duchesnay, 30 minutes west of the Quebec city area. 11,000 tons of snow and 350 tons of ice are heaved and shaped over a five-week period to build the ice hotel with ceilings as high as 18 feet. Quebec's Ice Hotel has many rooms and theme suites, a cinema, chapel, fireplaces, Jacuzzis and ICE Bar. Children of all ages are welcome. Activities include dog sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, skating and ice-fishing.
The season for Ice Hotel Quebec starts in early January and lasts until early April. The Ice Hotel offers many packages; you can also visit without staying overnight. This eco-friendly design is made entirely from ice and snow with ceilings as high as 16 feet, walls covered with original artwork and furniture carved from ice blocks.
This isn't a normal hotel. While still riddled with creature comforts, the snazzy venue forgoes fluffy cushions and bouncy king-size beds in order to make the best use of what surrounds it: frozen water. The hotel is forged with 11,000 tons of snow and 350 tons of ice. It boasts art galleries, a movie theatre and an Ice Bar, as well as rooms where you can bed down for the night in toasty furry sleeping bags. Guided tours and self-guided visits are possible every day.
