One word. Macworld.
I sold half of my shares in the company the day before Macworld at an astounding price. I personally feel for whoever the buyer was, as they paid well over what my shares were worth that day (wrongly anticipating a spike after Macworld). I, however, have had a close eye on the rumors and Apple's business model as of late. I anticipated several elements that came to frutition, and now still having half of my Apple stock, I about broke even. Until Apple soars high again :). First really insightful stock market decision I've ever made.

What doesn't Amazon sell? toilet paper, tampons, tooth paste, and it is worth 80 billion, when it should be worth 1 billion. It is an uninspired discounter, like online-Walmart.

They need sales and prestige to keep up their scam.

This is why Android phones are creeping up on iOS...they are offering more features and constant innovation in the hardware. iPhone users (and I used to be one) only enjoy hardware innovation once a year.
When does a single user actually get more than one new phone a year? You're creating a false scenario for a single user. As a community, android users have more choice, but a single user isn't negatively affected by the amount of innovation given that they can only buy once a year.
Maybe we will see an LTE iPhone in 2012, maybe not but I can say with all the certainty in the world that Android will have kick ass dual core LTE phones with large screens and probably something retina like in resolution by then. I wouldn't be surprised to see 12 MP cameras, 2-3 MP front cameras all running Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The forthcoming iPhone will likely be the dual core A5 processor. There is no faster SoC out there right now. 12 MP is irrelevant. It's all about the quality of the sensor, of which Apple is ranked one of the absolute highest. You're falling for the numbers game and assuming bigger means better.
For instance, only camera I've seen rated higher than the ip4's is a nokia's. Who's using nokia smartphones these days? The ip4's screen is considered among the best. The only one that will outright beat it is probably the upcoming SAMOLED + from Samsung. However, I bet the iPhone 6 or 7 will probably make the jump to AMOLED too. In terms of battery life, the droid x and atrix are pretty much on par. You have to get a blackberry to get better battery life.

Sorry, not likely to happen given the razor-thin profit margins for televisions nowadays, especially when you have Samsung, Sony, VIZIO, Panasonic, LG and a couple of other brands fighting it out already in the large-screen flat-panel market.
I don't know - Apple has a history of working very well with high margins in markets which traditionally had low margins. They've proven a few times over that quite a few people are willing to pay more for design & integration.

I've got a 2.5 yr old MacBook that is feeling stretched with Aperture. I've been thinking that an iMac / iPad combination would be a good replacement.

I am sure any plans to launch it have been scrapped and this is just a left over prototype. You know Apple has a history of planning for every contingency, I am sure there are Sprint iPhones ready to go also. If Apple decides to release them they would be ready to go.

Apple is testing the market further if white is a hit. Then they will release the iPhone 5 in blank and white at the same time in late fall!
